Pier & Beam:
Pier and beam houses are usually structures that have a crawl space underneath the house or building.
One of the most common types of failure in a Pier and Beam Foundation is when the pier is no longer under the beam.
Another problem that we often find common to pier and beam houses built on expansive clay soils is when water accumulates or passes under a house, the soil expands and causes the pier to shift. Some corrective measures may include exterior drainage correction as well as adding large vents to the crawl space of your house.
